Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
about Contributing Travel Stories:

Q What kinds of travel stories do you want?
A Any conceivable good, bad, funny or otherwise interesting or significant travel experience that stands out in your mind. I have over 200 different kinds of themes that run through stories I have already collected.

Q How do I proceed?
A Provide the background context, e.g., the year and the place, what led up to the experience, what happened in detail. Be descriptive and be psychological. Tell what you saw, heard, thought, felt and did at the time. How did you use your wits to get out of bad situations? And how did you manage to get into good ones?

Q How long should the travel stories be?
A They should be as long and detailed as makes them complete. Remember, I am looking primarily for complete experiences where possible. Of course your briefer impressions and comments about travel are certainly always welcome.

Q What about spelling and grammar?
A The important thing is to get the stories down on your computer, on paper or on cassette as quickly as possible. I'll edit the stories, so don't overly worry about spelling or grammar.

Q Do the travel stories have to be my own?
A Of course not all travel stories are about you. They may be about other people as well. But it is important that the material be your own. That is, the stories you are sharing must be first-hand experiences of your own, of your friends, family or acquaintances. Or they can be second-hand experiences that you either heard about during your travels or were told about by someone else.

Q What should the travel stories NOT be?
A They should not be stories you've read in books or newspapers, heard on the radio, saw on TV, etc. In other words, the material should be your own, not material copyrighted or owned by anyone else.

Q What if the material is of a sensitive nature? Will my name be used?
A Travel stories are told to me about spying, smuggling, drugs, etc. All contributions will be anonymous and confidential–no names will be mentioned.

Q When will I receive my copy of the book?
A As long as I have a good permanent mailing address and address updates, I will do my utmost to make sure that you receive your free copy. When the book is ready, I will mail out a notification postcard to you, just to make sure that I have a good address for you. There's no telling exactly when this will be.

Q How can I buy a copy of the book?
A Click notify me, complete the requested information and submit.
